What we publish

Today Madurai publishes guides and news about Madurai: temples and festivals, food and culture, civic developments, weather, and practical tools such as the TNEB bill calculator and helpline directory. Our goal is information a resident or visitor can actually use.

How articles are made

  • Topics are chosen by our editorial team based on what Madurai residents and visitors ask about.
  • We research from primary sources wherever possible — temple administrations, government departments and notices, official websites, and people on the ground.
  • We use AI tools to help with drafting, structuring and English–Tamil translation. AI never publishes anything: a member of our team checks every fact, date, timing and number against sources and edits the article before it goes live.
  • Each article carries a byline, a publish date and, when it changes, an updated date.

Accuracy and updates

Temple timings, festival dates, tariffs and helpline numbers change. We review practical information periodically and update pages when we learn of a change. News articles describe events as of their publish date; when a story develops, we add an update or publish a follow-up rather than silently rewriting it.

Corrections

If you find an error, email connect@vembadi.com with the page link and the correct information. We aim to review correction requests within two working days, fix confirmed errors promptly, and note significant corrections on the article.

Independence and advertising

Today Madurai is run by Vembadi Labs and supported by advertising. Advertisers have no say over what we write. Sponsored content, if we ever publish it, will be clearly labelled as sponsored.

Quiz content

Quiz questions are written from the same sources as our articles and include an explanation of the answer. Players can report a question they believe is wrong directly from the quiz; reported questions are reviewed and corrected or removed.
