Arulmigu Sellur Murugan Temple in Palanganatham is one of the most beloved and widely visited Murugan temples in Madurai city. The temple serves the large and densely populated Palanganatham and Sellur residential areas, which form one of Madurai's busiest urban localities. The presiding deity Lord Murugan is enshrined with his two consorts Valli and Deivasena in a beautiful and well-maintained sanctum sanctorum. The temple has been a spiritual anchor for generations of families in this area and sees thousands of daily visitors seeking Murugan's blessings for education, career success, and family welfare. The Skanda Sashti festival celebrated over six days is the biggest annual event, drawing enormous crowds from not just the surrounding area but from across Madurai.
